Attitude of Gratitude... 30 Days of Thanksgiving! Day 23

DAY 23

I've come to understand these quotes better over the past couple of years. I do believe that I am where I am supposed to be, doing what I'm supposed to be doing or else I'd be somewhere else, doing something else. Saying this doesn't mean that I always "want" to be where I am everyday, or that I "feel" I'm on the right path, but I can rest in the truth that God will get me through each day, regardless of where I find myself, and that I am right on time.

I believe that we have been given free choice and there are consequences to every choice we make, good and bad. We all live out of the consequences of our choices, but in that, I get to trust God for what the outcome looks like. I also believe that God makes all things work together for good...

The key parts of this verse are: ALL THINGS and FOR GOOD... God takes all things; good, bad, painful, celebratory, devastating, amazing and works them ALL together for good for our lives. This doesn't mean we won't face hard times or suffering, but it does mean He promises to work in and through our pain and struggles for our good. He doesn't cause pain, but He is with us in whatever life those us.

Today, I'm grateful for:

  1. Being able to trust that God is big enough to take care of me and those I love

  2. Being settled in where I am today

  3. The peace that passes understanding, especially in the turbulent times in my life

  4. The opportunity to see how things that have happened in the past, helped me to get to where I am today - not that I enjoyed the process or the time it took, but I'm happy I've learned much and I am healing along the way.
