"Fear is a LIAR." I love this song by Zach Williams. Most of the time fear "feels" real and true. False Evidence Appearing Real... Fear is not the truth... It may be our reality at times, but it is not our truth. Fear has taken on a whole new flavor in 2020! I've seen how believing in and living out of fear can destroy lives, stop life, end life, divide families and friends, cause physical and medical issues, and bring overall unrest.
Fear is not bad in itself. It is what we do with or believe about fear that creates a challenge and wreaks havoc in our minds and bodies. God designed our bodies with the flight or fight mechanism, to release adrenaline and cortisol when we face a fearful situation or need to get out of a bad situation. Unfortunately, for many people this surge of stress hormones flood our bodies day in and day out, wreaking havoc in so many ways, physically and mentally.
Did you know you can find "do not fear," "fear not," "don't be afraid," 365 times in the Bible. One for every day of the year,. God wouldn't tell us not to fear, if it wasn't possible for us to not fear. For me, fear = a lack of faith or trust. I tend to find fear being a part of my life, when I choose to put my trust in myself or someone else, more than I am trusting God for whatever situation I'm facing. Listen to "Fear is a Liar" by Zach Williams and / or "I Am No Longer a Slave," I think you'll be encouraged.
